For many people, the appeal of CrossFit is group classes and community-based workouts. You meet with like-minded individuals to complete the WOD before going your separate ways. But there are times in your CrossFit journey when you need more individualized attention than your workout buddies or group coach can provide.

As a level-2 certified CrossFit coach, I offer one-on-one coaching in San Francisco to help you learn CrossFit fundamentals safely or prepare for competition. I’ll create custom WODs tailored to your fitness level so you can meet your goals safely.

Not in the Bay Area? No problem. I also offer online programming to individuals nationwide.

Need Help…

Getting Started with CrossFit?

CrossFit is a high-intensity training program with about a 20% injury rate. Though this is comparable to injury rates in distance running and weightlifting, you don’t want to be part of this statistic.

If you’re new to CrossFit, I can help you learn new exercises and build endurance in a way that is appropriate for your ability level, so you can complete any WOD you set your mind to (with the correct modifications).

Training for a CrossFit Competition?

If you’re ready to push yourself to the next level, AP Wellness Training & Consulting can prepare you for your next CrossFit competition.

Whether you need to build stamina to complete multiple WODs on competition day or master a few new movements, I’ll create a custom training program to help you crush your goals.

Benefits of 1-on-1 CrossFit Training

Though the energy and excitement of being in the box with a group are hard to beat, here are a few reasons to consider supplementing your group workouts with 1-on-1 training:

01.

Better Results

Workouts are designed for your body and fitness goals when you work one-on-one with a CrossFit trainer, so you’ll progress faster. You’ll also get feedback on form issues that can be overlooked in a group setting.

02.

Modifications for Your Unique Needs

If you have a pre-existing injury or medical condition, I can help keep you safe while you train. I can even coordinate with your healthcare team.

03.

Nutrition Guidance

Giving your body the proper nutrients to rebuild is just as important as having a good training program. My personal training clients also receive nutrition coaching, so they can excel in every area of fitness.

What My CrossFit Clients Say

Aleks is a fantastic trainer, both for general personal fitness and for learning the ropes for CrossFit WODs and lifts. She’s super positive and funny and brings great energy to all our workouts. I especially appreciate how she balances making sure all my lifts are safe and properly executed while pushing me to work harder and do more than I would ever try on my own.

I originally intended to start with workouts twice a week and then drop down to once after I got into better shape, but our workouts are so fun and motivating that I don’t want to cut back!

Sarah Charlton

[Aleks] trained me in CrossFit for one year in 2014 with great results… She is knowledgeable about physiology and precision nutrition, so I decided to have her nutritional advice in my plan too.

I think that her scientific training background gives her the ability to plan a specific training plan for any kind of goal you want to achieve… A friend of mine, a power-lifting enthusiast, asked her to perfect his technique and increase his performance on the snatch, and she got him there too.

CrossFit FAQs

CrossFit is a high-intensity fitness program that combines elements of weightlifting, cardio, gymnastics, and functional movements. It aims to improve overall physical fitness by focusing on functional movements performed at high intensity.

Absolutely! CrossFit is scalable, which means it can be adjusted to accommodate people of all fitness levels. I will modify the workouts to match your current abilities and gradually increase the intensity as you progress.

CrossFit can be an effective tool for weight loss. The combination of high-intensity workouts, functional movements, and proper nutrition can help you burn calories, build lean muscle mass, and improve your metabolism. However, it's important to remember that weight loss also depends on your diet and overall lifestyle choices.

In many cases, yes. CrossFit workouts can be adapted to accommodate individuals with injuries or physical limitations. I will work with you to modify movements, adjust workout intensities, and provide alternative exercises to ensure a safe and effective workout experience. If you’re unsure if you can do CrossFit, it’s always best to check with a healthcare professional.

CrossFit workouts are designed to promote overall fitness, strength, and conditioning. While you may gain some muscle mass, especially if that's your goal, CrossFit is not solely focused on bodybuilding. The workouts aim to improve functional movements and develop a balanced physique.

The frequency of your CrossFit workouts depends on your goals and individual circumstances. For most people, starting with 3-4 sessions per week is a good balance between giving your body time to recover and maintaining consistency. However, I will work with your needs and schedule as we create your training program.

CrossFit is for everyone, not just competitive athletes. While CrossFit does have a competitive aspect with the CrossFit Games, the majority of CrossFit participants are everyday individuals looking to improve their fitness, health, and overall well-being.

CrossFit is unique because it combines various training modalities into a comprehensive program that focuses on functional movements. It emphasizes both cardiovascular fitness and strength, providing a well-rounded approach to fitness. Additionally, the community aspect of CrossFit is a significant draw, as participants often form strong bonds and support one another throughout their fitness journeys.
